How we ranked the top Shiloh movers
Why you should trust us
We take reviews seriously to protect people just like you! Our team has been crunching data on moving companies since 2010. Our math-based ranking system uses data, manual review, and statistical analysis to help you hire the best movers in Shiloh, IL.
Rating Methodology
Here's the methodology we used to come up with the best movers in Shiloh:
Our original review-based ranking algorithm
We started with a total of 75 companies that offer moving services in the Shiloh area.
From these 75 companies, we analyzed a total of 28,151 reviews dating all the way back to July 2007.
We also reviewed a total of 21 state and federal moving licenses from these 75 companies and 326 different 3rd party review and social profiles.
Each of the ~28,000 reviews was scored according to our detailed 11-point rating criteria
This gave us a total of 52,699 data points to compute individual company scores.
Reviews are time-weighted so that more recent reviews carry more weight. This helps you understand how a mover is doing today... not 5 years ago. We have 622 Shiloh moving company data points from the past 2 years that carry more weight.
Bayesian averages calculated to fairly account for the differences between companies that are newer(like BEK Moving Co.) vs older more established companies (like Happ Movers, Inc.).

Frequently Asked Questions About Moving in Shiloh
How much should you tip movers in Shiloh, IL?
When moving in Shiloh, Illinois, consider tipping movers around 10-20% of your total moving cost or roughly $5 per mover per hour. This shows appreciation for their hard work and keeps morale high, especially if they're navigating the local streets off I-64 or tackling tight corners near Green Mount Road. The exact amount may depend on how challenging the move is and how satisfied you are with their service. In addition, offering bottled water or cold sweet tea can be a thoughtful local gesture during warm Midwest days.
Is it cheaper to make a DIY move in Shiloh?
For those who prefer a do-it-yourself approach in Shiloh, setting up your own truck rental and gathering supplies might seem budget-friendly at first. However, remember to factor in extra costs like fuel, mileage fees, and potential lodging if you’re traveling beyond St. Clair County. Heavy lifting and driving a large truck through local traffic on Highway 50 can also add stress. If you’re ready to roll up your sleeves, find truck rental options at this link and prepare yourself for the hard work ahead.
Should I hire labor-only movers?
If you have your own truck or just need help loading and unloading in Shiloh, you can hire professional teams for labor-only services. These movers will handle the heavy lifting around Scott Air Force Base or down the streets by Shiloh Station, saving you time and strain on your back. By focusing on loading and unloading, you’ll retain full control over your transportation and schedule. To learn more, check out hourly movers in Shiloh who specialize in labor-only assistance.
What if I need to move something special like a piano or pool table?
Some items need extra care when moving around southwestern Illinois, such as pianos, pool tables, statues, and hot tubs. These require specialized equipment and experienced handling, especially if you’re navigating tight doorways near O’Fallon-Shiloh or going upstairs in older buildings. Trust local experts like piano movers and pool table movers to protect your valuable possessions from start to finish.
